Last spring in Paris, I rediscovered why I started drawing in the first place. Over five days, I filled 22 sheets of paper with drawings: the small, quiet details of the city most people walk straight past. The unposed moments, the traces of interaction, the feeling of a place rather than its landmarks. I had no plan to make a book, but the work kept coming.

Each sheet held multiple drawings, made quickly, one next to the other. For this publication with TOSAM Press, we gave each of those small observations its own page - a pocket-sized collection printed in three-color riso. Booker-nominated author Ali Smith wrote the foreword, connecting these drawings to Paris's long history as a city that pulls artists in.
